Wet start to season for winter bowlers
The St Arnaud Bowling Club Winter Bowls competition commences in May each season and games are played on the first and third Sunday each month until September.

RAIN and a slow green didn’t slow the teams down in round two of the St Arnaud Bowling Club’s Winter social bowls last Sunday.
There were 12 players that enjoyed two games of 10 ends in very pleasant conditions.
The synthetic green was a little slower after the 20 mils of overnight rain, but quickened as the games progressed.
Only two of the twelve pairs managed to win both games, the best winners were Phil McRae and Jason Barron 11 shots up, with runners-up Bill Rodger and Lyn Moulday five shots up, after a last end win by one shot over Steve Zsigmond and Paul Micallef.
The St Arnaud Bowling Club Winter Bowls competition commences in May each season and games are played on the first and third Sunday each month until September.
Games start at 1,30pm with names to be on the noticeboard by 1.00pm.
As there are four Sundays this month, the next games will be on May 31.
