The North Central News is a weekly publication
serving the communities of St. Arnaud, Charlton,
Wedderburn and surrounding areas. It has a
community-minded focus, with information and news
about local issues and events along with comprehensive
coverage of local and regional sports and human interest
The district has a rich history of early agriculture and gold
mining, with a culture of perseverance and optimism that is
evident in its businesses, sports and service clubs.
The district has a diversity of primary industries from traditional
grain and wool production to intensive piggeries and turkeys,
along with olive and wine production.
Value adding of many of the products brings employment and
creates a vibrant business hub with most trades well represented
within the paper’s catchment area.
With a circulation of 1,800, the NCN is distributed in St. Arnaud, Charlton Wedderburn, Donald, Rupanyup, Bealiba, Marnoo, Navarre, Dunolly, Wycheproof, Birchip, Korong Vale, Boort, Stuart Mill, Redbank, Avoca and Moonambel.
