Watch time and fashions fly by in popular parade
FOLLOWING the success of its popular 2018 bridal parade, the Charlton Golden Grains Museum is once again bringing fashion to the stage of the Rex Theatre.
FOLLOWING the success of its popular 2018 bridal parade, the Charlton Golden Grains Museum is once again bringing fashion to the stage of the Rex Theatre.
Fashion Through the Years will showcase everything from stylish daytime fashions to elegant evening wear, offering a glimpse into changing trends and social occasions across the years.
Clothing has been drawn from the Museum’s collection, alongside garments generously loaned by local families.
Many of the pieces have been carefully stored away for decades and will now be seen publicly once again.
Charlton Golden Grains Museum president Diane Wood said the strong response to the bridal parade inspired the museum to revisit the concept.
“The bridal parade was incredibly well received, and people have continued to talk about it over the years,” she said.
“This event gives us the opportunity to showcase a much broader range of clothing, and it has been wonderful to see the community contribute garments and stories of their own.”
The afternoon will also include pre-show drinks and finger food, creating an enjoyable social outing for attendees.
Fashion Through the Years will be held on Sunday, June 21, with doors opening at 1.30pm for a 2pm start at the Rex Theatre, Charlton.
Tickets are $20 for adults, with students and children admitted free. Tickets are available at the door or online at: www.rextheatre.or.au/live-shows.
