Voices will shine at International Women’s Day events across shire

WHEN women and girls stand equal, families are stronger, workplaces are fairer, communities thrive and society becomes safer for everyone.

Northern Grampians Shire Council will host a number of events across the region to honour International Women’s Day, which fell on Sunday.

St Arnaud business owner Jane Lomas, who is about to open the Vine and Lamb in Napier Street, will be the speaker at ‘Business After Hours’ on March 18 at the Perry Room at the Town Hall from 5.30pm.

If you’re in Stawell today, Kate Warner from Green Eggs will be the guest speaker at Stawell Trackside Bar and Bistro from 5.30pm. Visit council’s website to sign up.

Anyone that owns or operates a local business within the shire is encouraged to consider attending either event. There will also be a number of active sessions at various venues across town.

Active For Life Chair-based Exercises is offering a free class on Friday for all women located at St Arnaud Senior Citizens on Golden Street.

Torney’s Fighting Fit is offering free access until Saturday to all women and girls for any session including boxing and pilates with St Arnaud Physiotherapy at 26 Alma Street, St Arnaud.

PhysioBiz Fitness is offering free access to all 9am ‘strength and conditioning’ and ‘step’ classes until Saturday for all women and girls at Napier Street, St Arnaud.

Libraries in St Arnaud and Stawell will also feature displays that celebrate amazing women authors and trailblazers.
