Tin rattlers add to tallies on Good Friday

Many groups and organisations, coupled with the town’s annual family fun day fundraiser, gave the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal something to smile about.

ST Arnaud’s hustle to raise funds for sick children was real as community members came out in force for the cause.

Many groups and organisations, coupled with the town’s annual family fun day fundraiser gave the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal something to smile about.

St Arnaud CFA captain David Reynolds said the brigade wanted to “heartfelt thank you” to the community.

“It’s been a fantastic effort that truly reflects the spirit of giving in our town,” he said. “The full total from St Arnaud was $22,290.99.

“This is the combined effort of our community which includes the street appeal, the amazing fundraiser at the Farmer’s Arms Hotel and other donations from our community.”

Charlton CFA marked its 50th year of fundraising, contributing to the town’s $6769.94, as did Marnoo with $1435.48.

Wycheproof raised $3183.47, Donald $14,823.69 and Birchip $2860.34.

The total raised for the day was $25,268,485.
