WEDDERBURN has added another massive chunk of percentage to its unbeaten season with a 150-point win over Charlton.

The margin could have been even more, given that the Redbacks had 44 scoring shots to four.

The Navy Blues flirted with a goalless afternoon before scoring their only major in the last quarter when Wedderburn took its collective foot off the pedal.

The Redbacks scored only 3.3 in the final quarter, to 1.2 for Charlton.

Tom Campbell, in his second game for the Redbacks after his return from Sandhurst in the Bendigo league, kicked a match-high five goals, while big man Tyler Curtis booted four.

Their efforts, among 10 scorers for Wedderburn, covered the absence of Matt Perri, who has missed the past two games but still sits fifth on the list of top goalkickers for the season. The Redbacks kicked 16.12 in the second and third quarters, while keeping Charlton scoreless.

Coach Tom Metherell’s marshalling of the defence was masterful and he remains a crucial part of his team’s flag chances.

In Metherell’s third season as coach, Wedderburn has truly switched on to his playing style in 2026 after missing the finals last year.

Wedderburn goes into the bye with a 9-0 record and a percentage approaching 300, with the premiership seemingly theirs to lose.

Sea Lake Nandaly is one game in arrears but more than 50 per cent behind the Redbacks - effectively two matches.

Charlton meets Donald in the Bunters Cup after the week off, with Wedderburn at home to Birchip Watchem.
