Stuart Mill beats heat to celebrate
This was then followed by an ever famous CWA supper, which was a hit again.
STUART Mill CWA hosted the Australia Day celebrations at Stuart Mill Recreational Hall.
With the air conditioner battling the elements of keeping everyone in the hall cool whilst guest speaker, Nigel Douglas, fifth generation of the Douglas family, gave an insight into the travels his job has made available to him travelling to Malaysia and Pakistan.
He said this has made him appreciate the values that were instilled in him by his late grandmother of “having a go” and “doing the best that you can do”. He believes that is the way that all Australians should approach their everyday life.
Mr Douglas said when he was in Pakistan their topic of choice to talk about was how the Australian cricket team had just beaten India in the World Cup.
After his presentation, a thank you gift of a pot of Stuart Mills Harvey’s Honey was presented by Sharon Douglas.
