HEN PICKED Craft shop owner Lisa Radomski said she couldn’t believe the phone call she had received last Friday morning.

It was that call that meant she wouldn’t be opening her store as she usually would.

That’s because it had been broken into the night before.

“It’s a very horrible feeling,” Mrs Radomski said.

“In all my almost 21 years in the shop, I’ve never once been broken into.”

St Arnaud police said they were still investigating after a person had broken into the Napier Street shop overnight.

Crime Scene Investigation came from Ararat to take fingerprints, but the shop was only closed until lunch time.

Thankfully, Mrs Radomski said, only cash and an old register had been taken.

“It could have been very stressful. It really could have been a lot worse," she said.

Most of the register and the shop's 'Retirement Fund' box were found behind the Town Hall, but the cash was taken.
