Southwells book spots in North Central champions of champions

In A Grade, Lynne Southwell received the bye, sending her straight into the final. The remaining semi was played between Eily Rosewall and Cher Brien, with Cher winning 26–16. The A Grade Final saw Lynne Southwell defeat Cher Brien 26–16 over 30 ends to claim the title.
In B Grade, Donna Buxton drew the bye and awaited the winner of the Wendy Laffin-Jennie McGrath semi, Wendy winning 25–18. Donna Buxton then claimed the B Grade Final with a 27–15 victory over Wendy across 24 ends.
Lynne is now set to represent the club at the North Central playing area Champion of Champions at Wedderburn on Sunday.
The Men’s A and B Grade Finals commenced at 6.30pm following a barbecue cooked by club president Michael O’Brien and enjoyed by 18 members who supported the remaining contenders.
Men’s A Grade was won by Wayne Southwell, securing his second title with a 26–14 victory over John Headon in 23 ends.
Men’s B Grade went to Steve Harper, defeating Brendan “Jock” Bailey 25–6 across 18 ends.
