League and association leaders were joined by club representatives and sponsors for the tradition pre-season gathering.
Meanwhile, in football St Arnaud has continued to build excitement ahead of the 2026 season, securing the signature of exciting midfielder Tanner Owen from St Joseph’s in the Geelong Football League.
Owen arrives with strong pedigree, having played six games with the Geelong Falcons in the Talent League during the 2021 season.
He also amassed more than 200 games across while part of St Joseph’s senior and junior programs.
Known for his ability to impact both through the midfield and inside forward 50, he shapes as a valuable addition to the Saints’ on-ball brigade.
An energetic and attacking player, Owen has a natural instinct to push forward and hit the scoreboard, adding another dimension to St Arnaud’s midfield mix.
He has also shown a flair for the spectacular, with a widely publicised high-flying mark during his time with the Falcons highlighting his athleticism and willingness to take the game on.
The signing continues a positive pre-season for St Arnaud, with the club assembling a blend of emerging talent and proven performers as they prepare for the year ahead.
Attention now turns to this Saturday’s practice match, where the Saints will host Learmonth at Lord Nelson Park from midday.
The hit-out will provide supporters with an early opportunity to see the club’s new recruits in action, along with a first look at how the side is shaping ahead of Round 1.
With anticipation building and new faces settling in, the Saints will be eager to make a strong impression in front of their home crowd as preparations ramp up for the season proper.
Around the grounds this Saturday, Charlton will take part in the Pyramid Hill Gala Day, while Wedderburn travels to Atkins St to take on North Bendigo after last Saturday having the edge over last season’s Loddon Valley league runners-up Bridgewater.
