Saints’ close call ends with win, new streak

ST Arnaud have re-started their winning streak in their Women’s hockey campaign as they came out on top of Boort over the weekend.

But it wasn’t an easy win for the Saints.

After a tough first round against Charlton’s top-of-the-ladder strong side, St Arnaud have seen a win each week.

Except a tug-of-war draw against Calder United back in Round 4.

But Saturday was another four-pointer for the Saints.

Despite the Magpie’s best efforts and strong defensive pressure, they just couldn’t bring the Saints undone.

Emma Green scored the team’s one and only goal, which also earned her a Probst IGA best on ground award.

Other stand out’s were Nicola Kirk, who took home the Dancing Kelpie best-on and Erin Haynes, who went away with the Physiobiz best-on voucher.

This win has left St Arnaud third on the ladder with Boort not far behind in fifth.
