Records at Rex for film festival
Film lovers travelled from across the district and well beyond to experience the unique atmosphere only the Rex can offer.
FILM fanatics came in droves to enjoy one of Charlton’s favourite annual events over the weekend.
As has become tradition, the weekend drew a blend of familiar faces and first-time visitors.

Festival coordinator Carolyn Olive said she was very pleased with the response.
“The feedback on the films this year was overwhelmingly positive,” she said.
“It was one of the busiest festivals we’ve had in quite some time, certainly since before COVID.”
The festival opened on Friday evening with Nuremberg, a gripping historical drama that provided a riveting start to the weekend.
Saturday delivered its usual mix of engaging cinema, lively foyer chatter, and the simple pleasure of settling into the Rex’s comfortable surrounds.
Lunch at the Charlton Club was an opportunity to catch up with friends and family and get ready for the afternoon’s entertainment.
Song Sung Blue proved to be one of the standout crowd favourites with Saturday night audiences drawn to the film’s uplifting spirit.
Charlton Arts is now looking forward to Jazz in July which returns on July 5 and the Annual Art and Photography Exhibition which has moved to October 2-5.
