Positive changes happening around town
WOOHOO! Life is exciting sometimes.

WOOHOO! Life is exciting sometimes.
With the addition of new food premises in St Arnaud, we now have a diverse range of cafes, restaurants, take-aways and pub venues to choose from.
There’s a buzz around the main street; new businesses open, existing businesses with upgraded signage obtained through the council’s streetscape program, and as always, the beautiful gardens that are such a draw card for our town.
There is also a buzz in Market Square each month with the rejuvenated monthly market, attracting stalls from local businesses, schools and service clubs, and further afield.
Wandering around the market it was lovely to see people out enjoying the sun, browsing, socialising and enjoying live music.
A big thank you to all the people who contribute in so many ways to our communities – from the old regulars to the newcomers with bright and vibrant ideas, to everyone using their energy to make a difference.
We sometimes forget to let people know we appreciate them, not just for big things but also for the little ways that people quietly help. Keep an eye out for the good things people do and say thank you.
Speaking of gardens, Queen Mary Gardens is getting new artwork and the group met with the artist recently to discuss ideas about how the art will complement our garden space.
We’ve also got a very active bowls club with plans for an additional green and roof covers to attract state, national and possibly even international competitions to St Arnaud. Let’s think big!
Choo choo – some active locals are pushing for the passenger train service to be opened again.
What a boost that would be – extra activity at the train station and visitors to the Raillery Hub Art Gallery.
We are lucky to have such a range of facilities in our country towns – explore and enjoy them.
