POLICE: caught with no licence, vehicle thefts and e-scooter rule reminder
A round up from the St Arnaud police.

No licence, no drive: On September 7, a 38-year-old St Arnaud man was caught driving on the Sunraysia Hwy near St Arnaud without a licence. His car was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $2,700. He will be charged with driving offences.
Vehicle thefts: Police are investigating a series of thefts from motor vehicles that occurred overnight last Sunday. Police would like to remind residents to secure their valuables and lock their vehicles at all times. E-scooters: Police would like to remind the public of the strict rules around E-scooter use:
E-scooters must not be ridden by any person under 16 years of age
E-scooters can only be ridden on roads that have a speed limit of 60 km/h or less
E-scooters must not be ridden at a speed exceeding 20km/h
E-scooters must not be ridden on footpaths
Riders must wear a helmet
E-scooters must not carry more than one person
Passengers not permitted on an E-Scooter
Mobile phones are not permitted to be used on e-scooters
Riders must follow traffic rules
E-Scooters must be visible at all times – have front and rear lights if riding at night
Riders must not consume alcohol while riding an e-scooter
Riders must not ride whilst under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
