POLICE BEAT: Police assaulted during arrest
He was arrested, but assaulted two officers, who used a taser, before he was taken into custody. He will appear in Magistrates’ Court.
A 31-year-old man has been spoken to by police about alleged breaches of an intervention order and public nuisance offences.
He was approached on Powell Street at around 7.45pm last Monday night before fleeing on foot.

Forced entry at View Point
OFFENDERS forced entry to a water storage facility near View Point, St Arnaud at around 3.30am on April 13, stealing various items.
Slaty Creek burglary
OFFENDERS forced entry to a building on Yawong Road, Slaty Creek, stealing wheels and tyres between 12.30am on March 30 and 11.00am on April 12.
Marnoo farm burglary
AN unoccupied farm residence on Wimmera
Highway, Marnoo, was targeted between March 31 and April 19. Offenders forced the rear door and rooms were rummaged through, with numerous items stolen.
Fuel stolen at Cope Cope
FUEL was siphoned from a tractor and an electric pump stolen from a farming property on Cope Cope Road overnight on April 23. This property has been targeted before.
Ute stolen from paddock
A 2015 Toyota Hilux (1GI2MO) was stolen from a farm paddock on Minyip–Rich Avon Road between 1.00pm and 4:20pm on April 20. If you have information about any of the above incidents, contact local police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Speeding driver stopped
POLICE stopped a Toyota Hilux travelling east on the Wimmera Highway near Kooreh on April 22.
The 41-year-old Seymour man was driving more than 35km/h over the 100km/h speed limit while overtaking a truck.
He received a $763 fine and a six-month licence suspension.
Unregistered vehicle in St Arnaud
POLICE stopped a vehicle on Mill Street at around 12.30am on last Friday that was not displaying registration plates. The driver was fined $1,018.
