LIONS club members will revamp Charlton’s Orange Local Phone Directory.

Club treasurer Garry Lamour said the new version will be accessible on phone as a digital app “giving you instant phone contacts details on your phone by simply typing in a name, in most cases a partial name will probably give you the contact details even quicker”.

“The digital version will also allow you to request changes, additions or deletions, which will help to keep the directory more current for longer,” he said.

“All you will have to do is down load an app onto your phone which will be free to Charlton and district residents and business.”

The new directory will have user advantages such as finding local name and phone numbers quicker, searches for local businesses more accessible, it will be tap and call instantly, it will be easier to make additions, deletions and changes to listings and it will be secure for local residents all of which will keep the directory more up to date and more relevant.

“There will not be a password required but rather you will register your mobile number when you download the app which make the directory secure to your phone only.”

The Lions club is asking district residents and businesses to agree to have their name and details listed.

“The club is also very mindful of the fact that a lot of residences will not have suitable phones or computers etcetera so a printed version will also be available for those who need or prefer a hard copy of the directory,” Garry said. “If a current listing in the Orange Book is still relevant and does not need change you won’t need to do anything, we will accept that your inclusion in the new book is approved.”
