Peaceful space for prayer in Wycheproof
Held at the town’s Uniting Church last Friday, those attending were welcomed into a thoughtfully prepared space.

AT A time when the world continues to face uncertainty and conflict, Wycheproof’s gathering for World Day of Prayer served as a gentle yet powerful reminder of the importance of prayer, reflection and unity across communities and nations.
Held at the town’s Uniting Church last Friday, those attending were welcomed into a thoughtfully prepared space.
Andrea Coatsworth had carefully arranged a display table at the front of the meeting room next to the main church building, featuring Nigerian artefacts, musical instruments and a vibrant animal-print cloth.
Eleanor Pollard warmly welcomed those gathered, with her husband, Reg, following by sharing the Opening Prayer.
Music played a special role throughout the service, with Adrian Jorgensen performing hymns and reflective pieces that beautifully complemented the theme and spirit of the gathering.
The service included a series of readings drawn from scripture, alongside reflections and stories offering insight into life in Nigeria.
During the service, attendees also viewed a short film from the Australian World Day of Prayer Project, further bringing the stories and experiences of Nigeria to life within the room.
Following the offertory, a closing address and hymn brought the service to a thoughtful conclusion with Pam Wallace thanking all for coming along.
