Participants finish final week of swim program
“Let’s hope this program is repeated for next season.”

A SWIM program aimed at helping participants with any ability learn to make waves has come to an end.
Participants from St Arnaud’s McCallum Day Services and Woodbine-Warracknabeal, along with other community members, have spent an hour a week at the Donald Pool.
Over the four weeks, BodyBiz fitness instructor Meg Tonkin had everyone enjoying the water while exercising to very motivating music.
The participants had “great assistance and support” from the Donald High School students and some members of the Donald Dolphins, according to Mallee Sports Assembly project officer Rhonda Allan.
“Water exercise is a great way to become fitter, feel better while doing non-weight bearing activities,” Mrs Allan said.
“This support breaks down many barriers to allow people to participate.
“Let’s hope this program is repeated for next season.”
For the final session, the weather was slightly cooler, but most participants braved the water and got moving.
Mrs Allan thanked all the participants and all the organisations that made the sessions happen, including the life guards, Buloke Shire Council and the “Access for All Abilities” program (funded by Sport and Recreation of Victoria).
