Pair takes out third Putter title
Local Chris Livingston paired with club champion Wendy Laffin to win their third Putter Day with a combined score of 78 points from Kerry Raven and Debbie Burton with 76.
STRONG fields and local successes were highlights of the annual Charlton Golf Club tournament that finished on Sunday.
The tournament opened with 49 players in the ladies’ 34th Putter Day

Winner in division 1 was Heather Hogan 41 from Vanita Walder 40 while division 2 honours went to Deanne Free 44 from Wendy Hargreaves on a count back from Kim Laffin 40.
NTPs: 2nd Ruth Iser, 7th Gill Fawcett, 14th Wendy Laffin/ Longest second shot on 17 was Mandy Male.
Sixty players contested the men’s 30-hole competition. Division 1 winners - 30 hole scratch S Valentine 60/73/123.. 30 hole net S Wright 48 2/3/70/118 2/3. 18 hole scratch J Curnick 71. 18 hole net O Bailey 70. 12 hole scratch C Burn 48. 12 hole net L Kelly 45 1/3.
Division 2 - 30 hole scratch J Headon 60/86/146. 30 hole net R Walklate 48 2/3/ 70/118 2/3. 18 hole scratch C Mathews 86. 18 hole net T McGurk 72. 12 hole scratch J Soulsby 58. 12 hole net J Cox 44 2/3.
Geoff Wilson Memorial Trophy best net Kew v Charlton winner Charlton Ric Walklate 118 2/3.
The men’s 4BBB had 49 pairs playing with division 1 winners taken out Pyramid Hill’s Jed Stewart and Adam Gould 46 from Murray Ennis & Russell Ward 45.
Division 2 winners were Troy and Brian Heenan on a countback from Ric Walklate and Chris Mathews 46.
