New students build foundations in Charlton
Look out for next week's NCN Herald for a wrap of all the prep and foundation students from around the district.

NEW little faces packed their school bags for the first time last week as this year’s prep and foundation students started school.
There was a buzz of excitement, and maybe a few nerves, as the newest cohort joined their peers in starting their educational years.
Schools across the Northern Grampians and Buloke shires had a staggered start to the school year last week, with all welcoming a few new faces.
One of them was Charlton College, who welcomed four new foundation students.
“Our school was filled with energy and excitement on Thursday as students returned to campus for the commencement of Term 1,” acting principal Craig Kelly said.
“Staff and students alike embraced the positive atmosphere as the school community came together for the first day of the academic year, setting an optimistic tone for the months ahead and into the year.”
As the students resume their travels to school, drivers are reminded that when school is back, so are reduced speed limits.
Time-based school zones operate on weekdays during Victorian school terms, from 8am to 9.30am and from 2.30pm to 4pm.
Reduced speed limits are designed to keep children safe when they are travelling to and from school, getting on and off buses and using school crossings.
