New leadership saves Probus club after closure close call
The St Arnaud Kara Kara Combined Probus Club Inc. meets on the the second Wednesday of the month.
THE St Arnaud Kara Kara Combined Probus Club Inc. has been saved in the last hour by an injection of new life.
Secretary Greg Fullarton said the future of the club had become worrisome.
“Our Club was running close to closure this year, mainly due to difficulties in filling the principal positions like president, secretary and treasurer,” he said.
“In a last stitch effort, the positions were filled to see the Club moving forward for another year.
“Naturally all the positions were granted pay rises, including Commitment, Dedication and Support for our fellow Probus members.
“We now have 51 members in our club.”
But they’re not against adding more members to their ranks.
