NETBALL: Kindness lifts spirits as juniors take to court
Amazing kindness was shown by the Saints players who helped Sea Lake get some goals to lift their spirits.
A FANTASTIC game was played by everyone in Net Set Go, with great improvement shown in footwork and passing.

The Mars Bar award (sponsored by Tania Scarce) went to Ivy E.
ST Arnaud delivered a strong performance against Sea Lake, securing a convincing win in 14 and Under B.
By halftime, St Arnaud maintained control with disciplined defensive pressure and smooth transitions down the court.
Sea Lake showed improvement in the third quarter, adding to the scoreboard, but St Arnaud continued to build momentum, leading 14–7 heading into the final term.
It was a fantastic team effort, highlighted by consistent defensive play across the court and excellent communication.
Players showed determination in chasing down loose balls, while the goalers impressed with their teamwork and movement inside the ring. The match was especially notable for several new players stepping into their first competition game.

IT WAS an exciting start to the 14 and Under A game with lots of talk between the girls.
The passes were strong and the movement was fast, with the girls making space and ready to move forward with the ball.
Sea Lake defence was quick but could only hold off a 1- 6 score at the end of the first quarter.
The start of the second quarter was another challenge with the very strong defence from the Sea Lake girls and the wind blowing across the court.
To start the third quarter, the girls had a lot of encouragement from their coaching staff and some position changes to put the Saints into a 25-5 lead.
Going into the fourth quarter, Sea Lake was still bringing the challenge to the Saints with a lot of great defensive work.

IN A tough first half of 17 and Under A, Saints made some good drives, created turnovers and fed well into the ring, even with Sea Lake’s reliable shooting and set plays.
But the real highlight of the match was the third quarter, when the Saints players fully incorporated feedback about backing each other, showing fight and determination, driving forward, creating space, going for everything and sticking tight which resulted in held balls by Sea Lake.

The Saints came out with strong defensive pressure in the opening quarter of B Grade, led by Leish Petrie, Lex Cameron and Ava Wilson.
Their efforts set the tone early, while Millie Hando worked tirelessly across the court. At quarter time, the Saints held a solid lead.
In the second term, the attacking end combined beautifully, with Alex Baldwin and Chloe N working cohesively and finishing well under the post.
Chelsea Gravener was influential through the midcourt alongside Millie in centre, delivering precise feeds into the ring.
The defensive unit continued their impressive form, contributing to a strong team performance.
The third quarter saw another strong start from the Saints, although Sea Lake maintained the pressure.
The defensive end remained resolute, while Millie and Chelsea continued to work effectively through the midcourt.
Consistent, accurate feeding from the mid-court helped maintain scoring opportunities.
Millie and Chloe combined well in attack, with Millie providing strong leads and options.

SEA Lake made a fast start in the opening quarter of B Grade.
But the Saints regrouped quickly, with Lex Cameron leading the way in defence. Her outstanding work in the ring disrupted Sea Lake’s shooting rhythm, forcing turnovers and giving St Arnaud a chance to reset.
The second quarter saw a complete shift in momentum, with the Saints lifting their intensity across all areas.
Sarah Dalton was instrumental down the court, applying relentless defensive pressure that slowed Sea Lake’s ball movement and created valuable intercepts.
With Emily H working tirelessly through the centre, linking defence to attack, St Arnaud began to find their flow.
Torri Tillig provided accurate feeding into the ring to allow the shooters to capitalise, and Georgia delivered under the post with strong shooting and important rebounds.
