CHARLTON will face Loddon Valley league powerhouse Pyramid Hill in football and netball pre-season matches next month.

CHARLTON will face Loddon Valley league powerhouse Pyramid Hill in football and netball pre-season matches next month.
The Navies will meet the Bulldogs in the opening clashes of Pyramid Hill’s annual community practice match series, which raises funds for the local CFA brigade.
Pyramid Hill finished fourth in senior football and were runners-up in A Grade netball last season in the Loddon competition.
The Bulldogs’ seniors finished second to premiers Marong in the previous two seasons.
The pre-season meeting, to be played at 11am on March 21, will be a chance for Charlton’s new senior coach Carl Thiesz to test his game plan against strong opposition.
Pyramid Hill also has a new coach in former Boort captain Jarrod Fitzpatrick, who has taken with him to his new role key players from the Magpies, including dual best-and-fairest Jhye Baddeley-Kelly.
Charlton’s A Grade netballers under returning coach Leah Smith will also face a stern test against the strong Pyramid Hill lineup.
Another North Central club in Sea Lake Nandaly is a part of the Pyramid Hill event, which sees nine clubs from a range of leagues in the region taking to the field and court.
The Tigers will play Central Murray FNL club Koondrook-Barham at 3.30pm as the fourth match of the day’s packed program.
Pyramid Hill will play two squads, with the club also facing Kerang in the final match of the series.
It will be the the first time Charlton and Sea Lake have been part of the Pyramid Hill community day.
Boort has previously been part of the major pre-season hitout.
