Multiple arrests made as police crack down on thefts
ST ARNAUD police have charged two men following a series of alleged offendings last week.

ST ARNAUD police have charged two men following a series of alleged offendings last week.
Police responded to reports of a man who allegedly entered three homes in St Arnaud last Friday morning.
It is further alleged the man assaulted a female occupant at one of the addresses with a blunt object.
Police patrolled the area to locate the offender, who is known to both the victims and police.
He later appeared at the front of the St Arnaud Police Station, where officers attempted to negotiate his arrest. The man fled on foot, prompting a short pursuit before he was arrested in a nearby street.
The 30-year-old St Arnaud man was taken into custody and interviewed.
He has since been charged with 19 offences, including breaching bail, trespass, assault, recklessly causing serious injury, handling stolen goods and criminal damage.
He will appear in court at a later date.
The investigation remains ongoing, with further charges pending. Later that morning, a 38-year-old St Arnaud man was arrested in relation to an ongoing investigation and outstanding warrants.
He was interviewed and charged with multiple alleged offences, including breaching bail, possessing ammunition, theft and handling stolen goods.
He will also appear in court at a later date.

Arrest after vehicle stolen
POLICE stopped two men on a motorbike along the St Arnaud-Charlton Road on Saturday morning.
Checks confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen during a burglary that occurred near St Arnaud recently.
The 32-year-old driver was charged with theft, breaching bail conditions and driving while suspended.
The other, a 33-year-old St Arnaud man, was released pending further enquiries.
The investigation remains ongoing, with further charges pending.
