MOVIE NIGHT: Zoo-tastic film for all ages
Rex Charlton returns and St Arnaud Cinema keeps going: what to watch this weekend.

THE REX Theatre Charlton is back for 2026 opening this Saturday with the Disney animation “Zootopia 2”.
The PG rated kids adventure follows furry friends, rabbit cop “Judy Hopps” and “Nick Wilde” (the fox) as they find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in the animal metropolis of Zootopia - turning the city upside down in the process.
Judy and Nick head undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before.
Nearly a decade after the original burst onto the screen, this hilarious, feel-good adventure is sure to captivate with its attention to detail, new characters such as blue pit viper, Gary De’Snake and thrilling animation. Throw in a stand-out song by songstress Shakira and the mood is set for plenty of fun.
With a message of peaceful co-existence amongst the varied species, and a family-friendly running time of 108 minutes, the air-con surrounds of The Rex might just be the best holiday entertainment around.
“Zootopia 2” (PG 108 minutes) screens at The Rex this Saturday from 8pm, Sunday at 2pm and Tuesday, January at 2pm and 8pm.
