Make a splash: pool pumping during school holidays
The St Arnaud pool has been getting a good work out over the last month and a bit as temperatures hit high enough to make you not want to stay inside.

SUMMER school holidays are the best time to keep cool at the pool.
And this week is your last chance to make the most of the time before schools go back next week.
The St Arnaud pool has been getting a good work out over the last month and a bit as temperatures hit high enough to make you not want to stay inside.
Apart from a few extremely hot days across the board, pools have been ready to accept anyone looking for a cool place to stay.
This was especially good in St Arnaud as residents were able to enjoy the newly renovated change rooms and kiosk, which were officially opened at the end of last year.
“It’s a place people of every age can enjoy this time of year,” youngster Matilda Polkinghorne said.
While Charlton wasn’t as lucky, with staff shortages and extreme temperatures leading to a few closures in Buloke Shire, there was still plenty of time to visit the local watering hole.
While we have been blessed with a little bit of cooler weather in the last week or so (cooler compared to temperatures in the 40s we had seen), there’s still a few warm days to come. Saturday will see temperatures in the high 30s for both St Arnaud and Charlton - 36 degrees and 37 respectively.
Don’t forget to slip, slop, slap, seek and slide when in the sun.
