LETTERS: Fuel for thought on exports and be careful what you wish for
Here's some of your thoughts.

Fuel for thought on exports
IT IS interesting to note that we now have a situation relating to the war in the middle east where there is every likelihood of a fuel shortage in the future.
The majority of the canola produced in Australia by Australian farmers is going to be shipped to Europe using fossil fuels where it will be turned into bio-fuel where it will be used as an aid to reduce their emissions to assist in the effect of their transport industry on climate change.
Would it not be practical if that canola were kept in Australia and converted to bio-fuel to be used by Australian farmers to keep their industry going and also to be used by the transport industry here so that it is able to keep the food that is produced transported to where it is needed.
One only has to travel on any rural road leading to any Australian city or town to realise just how many trucks are required on any day to keep the shops and supermarkets stocked with the foods and other necessities that are required by us all. If it were to happen that an industry was established to produce bio-fuels in Australia from seed crops grown here by Australian farmers it would be great if it were to end up as Australian owned and not like a lot of other so called Australian companies where the profits are shipped off shore.

Be careful what you wish for
IF PEOPLE of Victoria happen to be feeling the Allan Government was running roughshod over their constituents, well it’s been truly confirmed, our democracy has diminished to become a dictatorship under the Federal and State Labor governments.
Government departments have been instructed to delete the Australian flag off their emails while others stay on. Guess which ones?
To rural people this is minor when generational farms in our community are not given the recognition or respect earned when we are the most productive state in the nation.
The new legislation passed last week by both houses of parliament with the support of the Greens giving the ultimate power to any government of the day, the right to purchase your land or property for any purpose as they see fit.
The situation farmers and landowners find themselves is very daunting and challenging which can effect one’s health as it has become very confrontational with the next visit of VicGrid staff and the Officers of Victoria Resources. The officers will be requesting entry to the easement areas with the power to issue fines if the request is denied .
The Allan Government now has forgotten who they serve. They want what we have so they can accommodate foreign investors who are guaranteed a very generous return on their investments. So your power bill will never get cheaper. This situation regarding renewables (ruinables) energy is more about politics and money with an interest bill running at $26 million/day. The Allan Government has now created division between urban and rural and instigated a situation of good law abiding citizens standing against a bad law, an ideology of gross connotations which will affect all.
Our State Government is so dictatorial, implementing an indigenous treaty, First Peoples Assembly being paid $70 million per year to be consulted with and have input into every bill and law put to cabinet. A minority having control over what’s good for us the majority and there is more to come. The Voice received the No vote - Democracy at work.
The Labor Government has thumbed their nose at proper procedures and pushed through with their indigenous Treaty.
There is a saying. Be careful what you wish for. So come election time, be careful who you vote for. We must save this great nation.
