Indoor competition kicks off new year
Indoor Bowls continues to provide enjoyable, low-pressure competition each Tuesday afternoon at the RSL Hall.

A strong roll-up of 11 bowlers marked the first session of indoor bowls for the new year.
Three six-end games were played with the kitty left where it landed, adding extra challenge whenever it pulled up close to the edge.
The standout performers were Malcolm Campbell (s), Lyle Streeter and Kaye Smith, who dominated all three games with convincing scorelines of 10–1, 12–2 and 13–1.
The second session of the year had 12 bowlers for a competitive afternoon’s play, reverting to the usual format of eight-end matches.
With everyone settling back in after the break, results were tighter across the board.
Two teams recorded two wins apiece, meeting in the final game to decide the overall winners.
Prevailing by just one point to secure all three games were Dot Baldwin (s), Win Battersby and Kaye Smith.
