LOCAL students in Year 11 and 12 are being encouraged to apply for the 2026 Farnsworth Lochhead Lowe Kokoda Scholarship, with applications now open.

The scholarship gives participants the chance to follow in the footsteps of soldiers on the historic Kokoda Trail.

Applicants must be physically fit, resilient, and commit to a 10-week training program. Applications include a 400-word essay on what the Kokoda story means to Australia, a questionnaire, and parental permission.

Shortlisted students will be interviewed by former or current Defence Force personnel, who will make the final selection. Applications close March 31.
