IN BRIEF: planned burns in area and another minister supporting Charlton CFA
A few bits of news we didn't want you to miss.

Burns planned in area
FOREST Fire Management Victoria (FFMVic) will take advantage of favourable weather and forest conditions across the district to help reduce the risk of bushfires to communities and the environment.
Reducing fuels like grass, leaves, bark, shrubs and small fallen branches means fires burn less intensely, spread more slowly and are safer for firefighters to control.
A number of burns are planned for later this year, including:
Kara Kara NP - Lookout Tk - 5.3km west of Stuart Mill
Kingower - Cemetery Rd - 2.5km WSW of Kingower
Percydale - Sardine Trk - 3.4km west of Percydale
Redbank - Jacky Willis Rk - 1.3km south-west of Redbank
Stuart Mill - Rostron - Stuart Mill Rd - 4.5km north-west of Stuart Mill
