Getting ready for GAT

SECONDARY students across the state are gearing up for their General Achievement Test (GAT).

This mandatory assessment is for any senior students undertaking a Year 12 VCE subject and will be held on June 16.

It will measure foundational literacy, numeracy and reasoning skills and will be used to moderate school-based marks and calculate substitute scores for students who may be unable to sit their final exams due to illness or other circumstances.

St Arnaud Secondary College will hold practice GAT sessions after school and on weekends to help their students prepare.

“We encourage all these students to attend as many of these sessions as possible to help put their best effort into the GAT,” principal Tony Hand said.
