Help women and girls in Nigeria on World Day of Prayer
A service will be held in St Arnaud Anglican Church, 36 Queens Avenue at 10:00am.

ST Arnaud residents will have the chance to help women and girls in Nigeria with an event on today.
The Anglican Church will host a service that will help residents come together with millions of other women around the world to mark the annual World Day of Prayer.
World Day of Prayer (WDP) is a global movement of informed prayer and prayerful action.
“Prayer and action are what link Christians together around the world,” WDP St Arnaud secretary Sharon Douglas said.
“The service this year is written by the WDP committee in Nigeria.
“The worship service includes stories of faith shared by the women and girls of Nigeria.
“The service calls all to come closer to God and find rest in God.
“When we totally trust and have faith in God, our burdens become light, and we find rest.
“The program was written by a group of ecumenical Christian Nigerian women in response to the theme, “I will give you rest, Come” (Matthew 11:28-30).
They reflected collectively on this theme from the context of their experiences as Nigerian Christian women.
“They hope to inspire other women in the world to unite and pray as one people. As we trust God, our Burden Bearer, we become one body in Christ, receiving and bringing rest to the world.”
