OK MOTELS is Win Scott’s favourite weekend because she feels it fills the town with “really positive vibes”.

But it’s also a weekend she gets to see her daughter Holly and her family.

“They all come to help out,” Mrs Scott said.

The Charlton Vintage Shop owner was one of many businesses around town taking part in the event.

“We bring in new and quirky things for people to look at, it’s always a lot of fun,” she said.

“We also open up our garden and invite people to come in and have something to eat with us.

“It’s great that all the money raised at the event goes back into the community and they all spend locally too.”

OK Motels is a community initiative and festival series founded by Kate Berry in 2018, inspired by a chance encounter in the town of Charlton.

It aims to bring people together through live music, art, and adventure, fostering a sense of community and connection among visitors and locals alike.

Mrs Scott said the crowd is always respectful and “like family” now. “We have people coming back year after year, they’re like old friends,” she said.

“It was a fabulous weekend, they’re all such a lovely tribe.”

Harry Wrigglesworth has been travelling from Melbourne to work at the festival for the last two years and has loved every minute.

“It’s nice that it’s one of the most stress-free festivals,” he said.

“Everyone around here is so lovely.”

The event creates a platform for musical artists from across the country to play in a small town and get their names out there.

“I never know every name on the line up,” Mr Wrigglesworth said.

“It’s a great way to discover new music.”

Caffinated Chaos owner Tia Fanning said she and the team has their “biggest day ever” on Saturday.

“It was a crazy morning,” she said.

“Tay, Indie and Chlo did an incredible job.”
