BEAZLEY’S Bridge brigade couldn’t be happier with their competition season as it ended on a high over the weekend.

After success in Donald at the demonstations in late February, Beazley’s won the day at Mandurang with the seniors and both junior teams taking out the respective aggregates.

Leopold seniors and under 13’s and Beazley’s under 15’s won the day at Maryborough with Mandurang seniors, Napoleons Enfield under 15’s and Beazley’s under 13’s getting the points at Lexton.

The junior team then finished first in the rural secion of the State Championships at Stawell.

This event saw Beazley’s take out top prize in the under 13s secion with a “comprehensive win and second in the under 15s aggregate.

“Our seniors started well, winning the Low Down Pump event with 14.95 seconds which creating a new record,” coach Barry Wiseman said.

“They ended up fifth in the hose reel and ladder but unfortunately everything went a bit pear shaped from there.

“The under 15’s finished the day with four second prizes and one third place, getting medals for all 5 events, with as little as 0.07 of a second or one or two seconds separating them from first place.”

“The under 13 Beazley’s team found all the aces their seniors lost winning all five of their events.

“This group has had a really consistent season and performed clinically all day to win the state aggregate trophy, with both age groups doing so well.

“Beazley’s came home as the champion brigade for 2026, an amazing achievement they should be really proud of.”
