PEOPLE closest to Mary Walklate gathered around her at Charlton's campus of East Wimmera Health Service to celebrate her biggest milestone yet - turning 100.

There were plenty of smiles and stories on May 27 when the woman of the hour - or century - was treated like the Queen she is.

Residents enjoyed afternoon tea and stories from Mary's children and friends.

There were even a few performances from Charlton Cricket Club Hotel's Greg Towers.
