GALLERY: Gorgeous weather graces Garden’s Gala Day

THE weather Gods were shining down on St Arnaud on Saturday, answering the prayers of the Friends of the Queen Mary Gardens.
The group sat watching the rain clouds soak the ground in the week prior to their annual Gala Day, hoping it would clear before the weekend.
And thankfully it did just that.
A large crowd gathered in the shade of the beautiful big trees, celebrating the work that has gone into the town’s beloved natural meeting spot.
Group president Dorothy Patton said she was thankful to see everyone out, ready to give back to the team.
“We are always so happy to see the community supporting us,” she said. “They’re always so generous.”
There was no end of entertainment throughout the morning, with the youngsters from Dance Capital putting on their performances and the St Arnaud Line Dancers involved the crowd in their boot scootin’ beats.
There were also little market stalls full of hand-reared plants, books, butterflies and more.
There was also the famous and delicious morning tea to enjoy.
