GALLERY: Community comes out for brigade’s birthday

THERE were plenty of familiar faces out and about to support the Charlton Fire Brigade when it celebrated its shed’s 95th birthday recently.

NCN Herald editor and journalist Alex Gretgrix was in attendance among the festivities, capturing moments during the event.

Buloke Shire councillors, Mildura MP Jade Benham and plenty of members from neighbouring brigades were amongst those attending the event.

Partygoers were able to share in plenty of chatter, a barbeque cooked by the brigade and volunteers as well as some delicious cake.

There were plenty of memories shared about the town’s connection to the brigade and from firefighters themselves.

But there was no denying the event was slightly tarnished by the need for a new shed.
