COMFORT and ease of care are at the forefront of the minds of the St Arnaud District Hospital foundation as they raise funds for new equipment.

Their latest efforts have allowed East Wimmera Health Service to add five new beds to Kara Court.

Foundation secretary Helen Rigby said the new king-sized beds were just one of the many contributions the group has made over the years since its inception.

“We’ve been supporting the local East Wimmera Hospital Service here in St Arnaud for now over 31 years,” she said.

“Throughout the past years commitment by the Foundation and its Trustees, the foundation has purchased much required items such as Beds, cabinets, food services equipment like a bain-marie at Kara Court, and contributed to the Palliative care area at the St Arnaud Hospital.

“The foundation raises funds within our community to be spent in our community and for our community.”

She said these new beds would be of great benefit to not only residents, but staff as well.

“The whole bed can be tilted and rolled for ease of the residents being able to get in and out of bed,” Ms Rigby said.

“This type of bed adds ease of use and comfortability by the aged or infirm sector of residents at Kara Court.”
