With the seasons changing from summer to autumn comes the Queen Mary Garden’s day of celebration.
This Saturday, enjoy a green thumb’s dream at the Friends of the St Arnaud Queen Mary Gardens Gala Day.
“It’s such a beautiful day each year and one we always look forward to,” group president Dorothy Patton said.
“We’ve had a nice bit of rain this week so we’re just hoping it holds off now and the weather is kind on Saturday.”
Friends of the Gardens member Lyn Box said there was always something for everyone at the event each year.
“We have a beautiful morning tea that always keeps people around until lunchtime,” she said.
“There’s a chance to buy lovely locally grown produce and of course the chance for people to show off their products.”
There’s even going to be a performances from the St Arnaud Line Dancers and those from Dance Capital for residents and visitors to enjoy.
“We can’t forget the raffle too, there’s great prizes to be won,” Ms Box said.
Built in the late 19th century, the Queen Mary Gardens are considered an important landmark with many historic features including the Angwin Memorial gates (1913) and a number of statues.
