LAST Sunday may have seemed cold and cloudy to many people, but 16 bowlers enjoyed good bowling conditions at the St Arnaud Bowling Club.

It was obvious they also enjoyed the social side of their time together, with lots of good fun and laughter as they contested the two games of 10 ends.

There was no doubt who the winners were.

Col Marchment and Garry White won eight of the 10 ends in the first game for a 12 shot victory

Then in their second game, they won six of the ends for a nine shot win with 21 shots up overall.

Wayne Keenan and Mick Pole were the runners-up, also two game winners by 10 shots and four shots.

New ditches

THE new ditches surrounding the green are eye-catching, the result of quite a bit of work by members of the bowls club over the last few weeks.

The ditches have been filled with sand which has been replaced by reddish synthetic grass strips.

It took some back-breaking work to remove all the sand and then cut the rolls of synthetic grass to the correct size to fit into the ditches.

The final result is very good, well worth the cost and time and effort by the club members.
