Courage cut: Walsh raises more than $7k for cancer charity
Ms Walsh said she couldn’t believe the support she had received. “I don’t even have words to say,” she said.
CHLOE Walsh has once again given up her lucious locks for a good cause.
But for her, it’s not giving up anything.
The fierce fundraiser’s crusade to support cancer research ended on a high on Saturday night at her Chloe’s BIG Shave event.
She said then that her efforts had brought in almost $7,500.
Charlton’s Vale of Avoca was full of laughs as a crowd gathered to watch Ms Walsh commit to the cut for the second time in her life.
“I’m no stranger to [shaving my head], it’s something I can do at a time when you can feel so helpless,” she said.
“If I can go a few months without hair and help someone get the treatment they need, I’ll do it for sure.”
But for her, this fundraiser was not only for getting that money together, but for a friend the community had lost.
Ms Walsh successfully kept Maddi Fitzpatrick’s memory alive ever since her friend’s passing a few years ago.
“She’s in the hearts of so many people and we know this already meant the world to her,” she said.
“We do it for Maddi.”
Ms Walsh said she couldn’t believe the support she had received.
“I don’t even have words to say,” she said.
“I can’t believe what we’ve been able to do here - thank you everyone for all the donations and the love.”
Ms Walsh said she had raised close to $7,500 for the cause.
“It’s unbelieveable,” she said.
“I really can’t thank everyone enough for all of this.”
