ST Arnaud was at the centre of a competitive and well-supported day of bowls as the St Arnaud Country Club hosted its annual Triples Tournament last month.

A total of 26 teams travelled from across the region to take part, with players representing towns including Boort, Bundoora, Charlton, Donald, Landsborough, Newstead, Rupanyup, Stawell, Waubra, Wedderburn, Wycheproof and Warracknabeal, alongside a strong local contingent.

Played across four games of 14 ends, the tournament delivered tight contests throughout the day.

At the conclusion of play, Rupanyup’s Pam Rollinson and her team emerged as the only side to secure four wins, earning them the overall title.

The runners-up honours were decided on points after several teams remained in contention, with Donald Golf’s Geoff Rigby and his team claiming second place.

While the visitors featured strongly in the results, St Arnaud players were well represented across the draw, highlighting the town’s continued strength and enthusiasm for the sport.

Off the green, the event was equally successful, with volunteers praised for their efforts in delivering a welcoming and smoothly run day.

The catering team received thanks for providing a much-appreciated meal for players and visitors.

Tournament organisers, including secretary Mark Esmore, were acknowledged for their work in coordinating entries and ensuring the day ran seamlessly.
