Cold on court doesn’t stop Saints chalking up wins
ST ARNAUD’s Under 14A netballers delivered another impressive performance on their home court, defeating Wedderburn in chilly conditions on Saturday.
ELEVEN keen Go netballers joined in the match, with some playing for Wedderburn to make up a full team.
Great sportsmanship on display from everyone.

ST ARNAUD’s Under 14A netballers delivered another impressive performance on their home court, defeating Wedderburn in chilly conditions on Saturday.
The home side settled quickly in the opening quarter, with the goal shooter and goal attack combining well in the circle to create plenty of scoring opportunities.
Players adapted well to their new roles and continued to work together effectively, extending the lead to 18-2 by half-time.
The third quarter saw the home side continue to control the game, restricting Wedderburn’s scoring opportunities while steadily building their own total to lead 27-2 at the final break. St Arnaud finished strongly in the last quarter, maintaining their intensity until the final whistle.
Wedderburn’s defenders worked tirelessly throughout the match and should be commended for their persistence and determination.
However, St Arnaud proved too strong through the centre court, with players consistently winning the ball and creating scoring opportunities.

THE SAINTS delivered a dominant performance in their victory over Wedderburn, getting off to a flying start and keeping their opponents scoreless until the second quarter.
A standout defensive effort from Layla C and Evie E proved difficult for Wedderburn to break through, with the pair consistently applying pressure and forcing turnovers.
The Saints also showed excellent transition through the middle of the court, with Indi J leading the way and driving the ball forward with confidence.
Their strong teamwork and ball movement created numerous scoring opportunities and kept the momentum firmly in the Saints’ favour.
In the third quarter, Latisha J moved into the Goal Shooter position and immediately made an impact.
Her strong movement around the goal ring created space and opportunities, helping the Saints continue to build on their lead.
PRECISION shooting from Maeve P and Emily H helped the Under 17s Saints secure the lead in the first quarter.
Tight defensive pressure made Wedderburn work hard to convert.

Wedderburn capitalising on some passing errors. Saints had to work hard to win the ball back. Ashly Z made it challenging for her opponent and had some great intercepts.
Good shooter to shooter connection by Maeve P and Eliza S keeping the lead out by 10 for most of the quarter.
Hannah S had strong drives and delivered the ball into attack well. Tayah R with excellent hands over every ball helped keep the ball out of the goal circle.

THE SAINTS and Wedderburn played out a thrilling 55-all draw in an entertaining C Grade netball contest, with momentum swinging throughout the four quarters.
Wedderburn made a strong start, taking control early with disciplined ball movement and consistent play through the midcourt. Their attacking unit worked efficiently to create scoring opportunities, while strong defensive pressure limited the Saints’ options.
The Saints responded impressively in the second quarter, lifting their defensive intensity and improving their transition from defence to attack. Cleaner passages of play and greater patience through the goal third allowed St Arnaud to claw their way back into the contest.
The third quarter saw Wedderburn once again assert themselves as the stronger side. Their ability to control possession, apply pressure around the circle edge and convert turnovers into goals enabled them to extend their lead.
What followed was a nail-biting final quarter. The Saints lifted their work rate across the court, capitalising on several key turnovers and converting them into valuable goals.

ST ARNAUD’S B Grade had a few combination changes this week with India Griffith moving down into defence for the first quarter.
Saints defence end was kept very busy in the second quarter with Wedderburn dominating the quarter. The skies opened up half way during the quarter making things slow down.
Saints started the quarter strong with a couple of quick goals. They had some strong well controlled passages of play through the mid court.
