Charlton golf back with big weekend opener

Past club champion, Robyn Soulsby, was granted the honours with the first swing of the day and signified the opening of the season, sending a “brilliant shot” down the 7th.

CHARLTON Golf Club’s opening weekend was deemed a success as it brought together a strong contingent to celebrate their first day on the course.

A strong turn out of 42 players converged on the town’s greens.

Past club champian, Robyn Soulsby, was granted the honours with the first swing of the day and signified the opening of the season, sending a “brilliant shot” down the 7th.

Club president Jamey Soulsby said it was great to see so many out over the weekend.

“Opening day was a great success,” he said.

“We had a strong field of plenty of players, with most staying on for the barbeque tea.

“It was a great day had by all.”

CHARLTON Golf Club was “extremely grateful” to get $1500 from 2026 CommBank Community Donations.
