Scores remained tight until the final ends, where Esmore was able to pull away to secure the championship.
At the St Arnaud club, the ladies singles championship Final was played last Thursday afternoon in excellent conditions between Kerryn Dyke and Sandra McIntyre.
Kerryn has appeared in the last eight championship finals, winning the first four and losing the next three.
Sandra, yet to claim a club championship, has been a finalist on several occasions.
Both bowlers began strongly, matching each other end for end as they adjusted to the changing wind. Sandra worked hard and played some impressive draw bowls, winning 14 ends to Kerryn’s 17.
Kerryn, however, produced three crucial three-shot ends, which ultimately proved decisive.
Kerryn won 25–15 to secure her fifth club championship title.
Esmore and Dyke have qualified to represent their clubs in the North Central playing area champions event in coming weeks.
North Central bowls matches last Saturday again yesterday were abandonded under the heat policy as temperatures went into the 40s across the region.
