Can you dig a youth disco?
More than 30 young people gathered at the St Arnaud Town Hall for a fun-filled disco hosted by Grampians Youth Events (GYE) St Arnaud.

ST Arnaud’s Perry Room was groovin’ recently with youngsters going back in time for a Youth Disco.
More than 30 young people gathered at the St Arnaud Town Hall for a fun-filled disco hosted by Grampians Youth Events (GYE) St Arnaud.
Organisers said their first event of the year had given them a positive outlook for the rest of the year already.
“We’re happy with the turnout and positive vibe on the night and we are already looking forward to planning their next event,” Committee members said
Appreciation was extended to St Arnaud Police, who were present on the night to help ensure the safety of attendees. Music for the evening was provided by DJ Jerome from Stawell, who kept the dance floor moving with a mix of crowd favourites throughout the night.
The organisers also acknowledged the St Arnaud Library for the loan of a speaker, which helped bring the party to life.
No party is complete without a piñata, which proved to be a highlight of the night.
The disco is just one of many activities planned by GYE St Arnaud this year, with the youth group continuing to create fun and inclusive events for local young people through the Amplify program.
Last year, the GYE organised a number of well-attended events including their Youth Fest, with the group welcoming more than 70 people at the St Arnaud Sports Stadium.
Their hard work also earned them honours at this year’s Australia Day ceremony.
The group was awarded the “Community Event of the Year” award at the Northern Grampians Shire Council event on Australia Day.
Events such as these were able to go ahead after East Wimmera Health Service received the grant to host Youth Fest earlier last year.
