Many thanks to all those who put in the effort to gather up 30 loads to be auctioned. Thank you to all the buyers who supported us by being enthusiastic purchasers. Our auctioneer, Brett Douglas once again turned the fundraising process into a comedy routine making for an enjoyable morning. The money raised will help with the major renovations going on in our clubhouse.
Charlton golf
BRODIE Grylls was the clear winner at Charlton’s competition on Sunday and handled the wintery conditions best and recorded his best score of his young career.
A par event in which most of the 13 hardy players struggled in the intermittent rain, Grylls recorded a score of +6 and can expect his handicap to reduce in coming rounds. Next best was Brendan Bailey on +2 followed by another keen young golfer in Jasper Walsh on +1. Jacko Zagame rounded out the ball count level with par.
The fairways are showing all the benefits of the season and was beautifully presented by greens keeper Stewart Smyth.
A members working bee is to be held tomorrow at 4pm to tidy up around the course in preparation for upcoming Tournament beginning July 30th.
Helpers are asked to please bring equipment to make the clean up easier.
