Bowlers brave it for two-day tournament
Serpentine’s John Hasty, Rick Hasty, Graeme Gilmour and Brian Gladman were the only team to win all four games.
THE cold didn’t keep the St Arnaud Bowling Club hosting their annual two-day tournament over the weekend.
Four games of 10 ends were contested by teams from Nyah (2), Waubra, Learmonth, Landsborough, Aradale, VRI Ararat, East Geelong, Serpentine, Boort, Donald Golf, and St Arnaud Country Club (3).
Serpentine’s John Hasty, Rick Hasty, Graeme Gilmour and Brian Gladman were the only team to win all four games.
They narrowly claimed the winners prize-money from the Country Club four of Mark Esmore, Bill Rodger, Steve Atkinson and Jimmy Coloe, this four won three games and drew the other.
The prize for the highest winning margin in the fourth game went to Nyah’s Rod Wickham, Phil McRae, Peter Philip and Noel Hender.
Triples results
TEAMS from Charlton, Wycheproof, and Wedderburn joined in for four games of 12 ends played in kinder conditions.
The winners were Donald Golf, Robert Adams, Adrian Humphrey and Bill Livingston.
The runners-up was decided by a closest to the jack play-off between three teams with tied results, and East Geelong’s Gavin Lane, Greg Supple and Stewart Webb, earned the prize money.
The prize for the biggest winning margin in game four went to Country Club’s Mark Esmore, Bill Rodger and Steve Atkinson.
