ANZAC DAY 2026: Sun shines on St Arnaud service
AS the sun began to rise on the 111th Anzac Day, St Arnaud RSL Sub-Branch members had every moment of the day organised to show respect and love to those who have fallen.
AS the sun began to rise on the 111th Anzac Day, St Arnaud RSL Sub-Branch members had every moment of the day organised to show respect and love to those who have fallen.
The Dawn Service began at 6am, with what organisers have called a significant crowd gathering outside the Town Hall for the event.
The Last Post rang through the buildings before a haunting silence fell over them as everyone remembered the sacrifices made so we could have our today.
Everyone was then invited to the RSL Hall to share stories and a hot Gunfire breakfast, served by the RSL ladies, who had been cooking up a storm since 4am.
There was time to reset before the town came together for its wreath laying ceremony.
Many different community groups and organisations paid their respects to our fallen soldiers by adding their wreaths to the cenotaph.
The St Arnaud Citizens Band then lead the march of emergency service personel, ex-servicemen, school students and more, down Napier Street before turning the corner into Raglan Street.
The day was tied up in a bow with the commemorative service back in the RSL Hall.
